My idea on something I believe would create change in the federal system in a major way is to create a program that will allow people that sentence men and women to actually serve a little time in the facilities that they are sentencing people to. It would be better if the people could get a personal experience in the day to day activities so that they can get a real account of what’s actually going on inside these walls. I think it would change the mindset of the prosecutors and others involved in asking for the lengthy sentences. I know that this is far fetched but I believe it’s a great idea. It’s similar to CEO’s going into their businesses posing as a worker to see the culture of the companies they sit at the helm of. It is always and eye opening experience.
