to spill the latest rumors, most of them completely absurd.

you’ll fill them in that Jenny, the Bunkie, well she knew.
but didn’t tell Sue well because she’s no snitch
so instead she told you, cause this info you’d surely ditch
to everyone around, the young and the old
you have to spread the word, this story won’t go untold.
Never is it your intention to get all of the facts
nor do you care what the information the story lacks.
there’s never a worry about whether it’s true
it’s all about the attention it brings, that’s all that matters to you.
Oh dear gossip girl don’t you see
you represent everything that most of us Never want to be.
We’re striving to be better than we were before
you’re still stuck in angry, trying to settle a score
we want to uplift others and share our support
while you’re doing a great job of ruining your own rapport.
with anyone who would be willing to lend a helping hand your way
your burning bridges with every untruthful word you say.
Gossip girl why can’t you tell
that your actions and behavior do not go over well.
You’re trying to win friends using the only way you know
by bringing other down, hurting them and making them feel low
But trying to win “real” friends this way just won’t work
because lying and gossiping is where the evil ones lurk.

what it means to be a friend, what it means to discern
the difference between what’s fact and what’s fiction,
where’s the truth between the lies and encryptions.
