Writing to use my Freedom of Speech and to inform the World as I continue to write my Memoir about my stay at Alderson Federal Prison Camp in Alderson West Virginia!
My name is Author Tamika Cross and I am 44 years old I will be 45 on 8-3-24. I am a Author of 8 books titled: “PPP Fraud My True Crime Story”, “Montessori the Million Dollar Philosophy”, “Law of Attraction: How to Understand it”, “Power Shift: How to Save our Youth”, “Adam and Eve Adventures Around the World”, “Adam and Eve a Children’s Story”, “This is How we Montessori”, “Montessori the Million Dollar Philosophy the Study Guide”. I have been a Montessori Teacher, Building Director and Owner of a Montessori Child Care Centers for over 15 years. I have also been a Youth Care Worker at a Uta Halee and Cooper Village in Omaha, Nebraska for 7 years and they have since changed their name to Rights of Passage (Youth Group Homes) in Omaha, Nebraska where I worked with troubled teens ranging from 13-19 years old. I am trained in the art and Observation Science of teaching children ages Infants to Primary 0-6 years old. I am also trained to teach adults how to become Montessori teacher. I have a Montessori teaching Certificate for Infant, Toddlers and Primary Certification. I hold a Masters of Science in Psychology with a Minor in Biblical Studies from Grace University in Omaha, Nebraska and I graduated in 5/2008. I was a teen mom who graduated with 2 kids that I had while in High School in the 10th and 11th Grade and I was the 1st in my family to go to College and graduate and I am proud of my accomplishment and I am also proud to be married to my wonderful Husband of 22 years Ronnie Cross, Sr. and my 3 beautiful children who are 28, 27 and 20 years old.
1.Hey I am just informing you of what just happened today 7-19-24 at Alderson Federal Prison Camp in Alderson, West Virginia.
2.Because of the zoom meeting with Senator Dick Durbin, Senator Jon Ossoff, Senator Charles Grassley and Representative Hakeem Jeffries on Last week 7/10-7/15 I can remember the exact date
3.But there was 60 families represented on zoom meetings and the families where able to voice their concerns to the senators and it was a very productive question and answer meeting.
4.The women families from Alderson and other places spoke about what they have been seeing at Alderson. The senators gave Alderson 30 days to response to the allegations and come up with a plan of correction.
5.The many complaints was about trust fund taking money, The FRP payment process, the Black Mold and Green mold on Campus, the staff misconduct, the drugs that are making the women fall out which is rampant here they have K2 and all kind of weird drugs here..that the women have that is laced with Bug spray and stuff…, misappropriation of funds, embezzlement and etc….the FRP payment process and calculation are not being done correctly and the money is not making back to the city and state that we are from. The FRP is used as a punishment to take people’s FSA and to put them in refusal and allows the counselors and the unit team to abuse their power and keep us here longer.
6.SO today at 7-19-24 at 12:40 pm -12:45 pm there was a recall at Alderson and they made all of us go to our units and they did a town hall meeting for every unit.
7.There was a lady that came out and read a paper from the Warden her name was Mrs.. Harris and she works in Records or RND here!
8. She talked about retaliation from staff
9.She mentioned that Goldie was not present and she was reading the paper verbatim and we could not ask any questions.
10.We asked for a copy of the letter and she said they would put it on the bulletin
11.She said she was aware of the concerns about the staff
12.She said that they wanted to open up a open forum about the issues and they would start a women group committee
13.She was going to address the substance abuse problem that they are aware of because the women here are always high and they get tested but what ever they are testing for is not in there system and they are beating the drug test.
14.The lady (Mrs.. Harris) from RND or Records was reading the letter and was laughing during the letter reading and was not taken the process serious
15.The staff told us because of the complaints they was putting us on operation starvation and they started putting us on 10 minute movements that day on 7-19-24 at 2pm and they was trying to treat us like a state prison or FCI camp as a retaliation punishment.
My Biggest concern for the most part is:
16.The ice machine is by the chemicals that we clean with and its against all serve save rules and OSHA standards because I have taking serve safe and OSHA classes.
17.There is Black and Green mold in the water fountain
18.Water that is here has mold and all there is a boil water notice on the town of Alderson and the staff does not drink the water on the compound but they expect the inmates to drink the water. I have to use the ice because I pray the cold kills the germs and I know that once the ice melts like the glaciers (germs and fungus are present). My safety and health are in jeopardy.
19.The showers have black mold and asbestos in it and they are not fit for him use. I have personally tried to clean my hair out of the shower and lifted the drain up and there is actually 20 years worth of hair in the drain I mean it absolutely disgusting.
20.There is water and rot in the ceilings of the building and there is boards that are used for the inmates who do hvac to walk on. When we have a flicker of the lights at any time in the A4 building and all of the A and B buildings there is no air conditioner at all that is available for 2 -3 days and some has to go flip a switch and turn the air conditioner back on and we are lift to be hot for days.
21.we get our food from the CDR (Cafeteria Dining Room) which has asbestos and not safe to eat out of and the Commissary (Trust Fund) which is one of the original buildings and it is almost 100 years old that was constructed in 1924 or 1927, REC (Recreational building) which does not even have a hot water heater and there is no hot water to wash your hands after you have been working out or there is no air conditioner in the REC at all and you are working out indoors and so was the HSU (Health Service Unit) they are old and falling apart and not safe to drink the water in any of there buildings as the staff tell us we are dumb for doing it.
22.(Trust Fund) Commissary is embezzling the funds and my proof is that we need bottled water and the staff get bottled water for free. The CDR (cafeteria Dining area) provides all the staff with free bottled water and a open buffet of food that was purchased for the inmates. The staff have a staff dining and they have taken and have for their own personal use only the ice cream machine and the yogurt machine that is suppose to be for the inmates. All left over food like cakes, pecan pies and fruits (pineapples), cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, broccoli, cauliflower is only given to the staff dining in a open salad bar and they have inmates serving them like they are slaves and they are waiting on the staff like pawns or puppets its sad and they give them small perks for doing it and they have to be in the CDR for 18 months or more in order to be able to serve the staff food but we also make staff dining trays on the line and they also have access to all the free staff dining food with real forks, table cloths and glass plates. They do not pay for the food and they eat and laugh at the inmates as if they are above us and we are dirt off their shoes. I am disgusted about the actions and I know I will be retaliated against for telling the truth and since I am a fresh set of eyes I asking for the (whistle Blower) protection act because I know that my FSA (first step act) and second chance act will be in jeopardy when I send this letter out.
23.I will also let you know that whenever you send some one to view this facility they trick the visitors by not allowing them to visit when the women are present and they will not allow us to have a town hall meeting with any visitors from regional or from Washington, D.C. they need to visit the A4 and don’t allow them to bring them during lunch time when there is no women in the unit and they are sneaky at giving tours and telling us that if we talk to the visitors we will get shots and be on the hitlist and the hotlist and they will search our rooms and throw our stuff out for retaliation. They guards will retaliate by not giving us the legal standard of half way house, first step act, Home confinement and or second chance act.
24.I know my voice is my weapon and 1st Amendment right also I am a Author of 8 books and I proposed a ACE (Adults Continuing Education) class here on the campus of Alderson and I went to all of the education, counselors, case managers, unit team Manager and etc… and they all told me that I could not do a class on Creative Writing because I needed a staff to sponsor me and that it would require a Ace certificate and they were to busy to do it. My passion is writing books and I even brought my published books to the meetings and I sent electronic and paper cop outs to the staff here at Alderson and I kept every single B8 documents that I submitted and I also sent them in with my Commutation of Sentence to the President Biden. Because I wanted to inform them that since I have been in BOP custody I could not follow my legal remedies that are on the Commutation of Sentence which is to (Mentor and or lead a Group Activity) My special skill set is being a Published Author of 8 books and I have been published for over 10 years prior to coming to prison and I have my books physically here with me and they are all available to be ordered on Amazon, Google and Barnes and Noble.
25. I was informed by a Education teacher Name Mrs. Marshall that “they women at Alderson Federal Prison Camp Stories are not important and that all the women think they can write a best seller and they cant”! I explained to them that women voice is important and that is how some of the women can get their dreams out, trauma out, and they can discover a side of them selves that they never existed through creative writing. I have met women in here that have been in jail, federal and state Prisons, been in the county for 3-42 months on pretrial and some that have been to over 19 jails during their time in prison. To me they have stories that need to be heard. These women are broken and mistreated and they have been exposed to correctional officers and employees here that have told them that they are no important and that they stories don’t need to be heard. I am writing my “Memoir” of my time in Prison because I write about my experiences and that is my 1st Amendment right and my freedom of speech and no one can tell me how I feel while in custody and what I have been through. I have been targeted by women because they know that I am public figure and I do podcasts and public speaking. I have a picture of me and (Vice President Kamala Harris) on my Bulletin Board and Picture of me and the Mayor of Omaha (Jean Stothert) I will also include those pictures with this letter. I am just a voice that has witnessed everything that I am speaking about in the last 5 months as I self surrendered to Alderson Federal Prison Camp on 1-29-24 for a 42 month Sentence.
26.I am speaking for multiple women that are afraid to speak up for themselves and had I not witnessed the town hall meeting on 7-19-24 in A4 at 12:43 pm I would have never had the courage to write this letter to all of you thanks for listening in advance and thanks for hearing the women at Alderson Federal Prison Camp in Alderson, West Virginia.
