Hello dear readers,
Last week, I wrote about the Training Seminar we had at FCI Aliceville and most importantly Michael Santos’ visit to us.
Well, we have not sat still ever since, our Peer Success Team has been buzzing around like bees and we have had many meetings within our team to evaluate the seminar, participants, performance and make a list of things to improve.
Right now, we are very busy writing proposals and laying the foundation of a smaller size Peer Success Team, for implementation at other locations. Kudos to Celeste Blair, Annabel Valenzuela for being such wonderful spirits to work with.
Don’t get me wrong, we have our moments of disagreement and doubt, coupled with frustrations when things do not go as smoothly as planned or when the compound does not have any moves or is on lockdown. Unfortunately, the latter seems to be inherent to this massive prison system, tainted by severe understaffing.
Taking deep breaths and having a “plan B” ready are techniques we have to master in our quest to successful re-entry.
Murphy’s Law is omnipresent, whether you are in prison or in society.
Keep following our story.
Have a blessed, buzzing day!
