Good morning everyone,
Life throws us unexpected curve balls, sometimes we catch them and sometimes we do not. No worries, give yourself a second chance.
The world economy is still scrambling to recover after COVID, nothing seems to be the same as before. When you have been in prison during COVID, the impact may have presented itself in everything getting more expensive behind the fence, but for our loved ones on the outside, life has become unbearably expensive. The new tariffs will only add to that.
Production is key, I agree, however setting up production will take decades to reach current levels.
What can you do while incarcerated: plan your finances very well and try to find a job. It is not only good for your productive development, self esteem, cognitive skills, but you will be able to set aside a little money as you do need to plan your life after release from prison.
I know it is easy to get absorbed in what peers around you do. But now is the time to start thinking about a frugal life. Set a weekly or monthly budget. Really and truly, do we have to buy all those shoes and sweat suits and then pay all that money to have them altered with the risk of them being taken away??
Teach yourself the skills to be money smart, take budgeting and finance classes or talk to peers who have successfully acquired good financial habits. Setting aside $10 per month, adds up to $1,200 per year, to $6,000 in 5 years. Isn’t that a nice nest egg to walk out of the prison gates with??
Good luck.
