I think it is great that you have created more FSA courses for prisoners to take I know that there are months that go by here at our facility where there are ZERO FSA classes. The main thing that I see and that has effected me is that the BOP does still does not follow the statutes of the FSA, even six years after they went into effect. It’s great to have classes, but if they BOP doesn’t offer them regularly and then doesn’t give you the credits you have legally earned to get early release, I ask you….what is the point? The focus for advocacy has to be on the BOP and their methods and procedures. We are in prison for not following the law, yet the very agency who is tasked with overseeing us is also not following the law, specifically the laws of the FSA, and that is what is keeping people in prison longer. I believe advocacy efforts should be focused on forcing the BOP to follow the laws as they were written and as they were intended by Congress.
