Today’s Response:
I have read and continue to read about many leaders in the world. Leaders as executives of companies, leaders as heads of countries, leaders as politicians, leaders of institutions such as government agencies and universities, and leaders of non-profits. We can learn something that will benefit us from every leader and it can make us better leaders, but I think the thing I look for most in leaders that I want to learn from is how can what they do or their habits make me a better person. Not a richer person, not a wealthier person, not a more powerful person, but a BETTER person that serves his fellow man. If I can do that, and I make more money then that is fine, but making more money is NOT the goal. I used to make a lot of money and had a lot of money and assets and donated to charities and worked for non-profits and I thought I was a good leader in the community, but I wasn’t really serving my fellow human being. I wasn’t a good leader of the people I was responsible for (over 600 in the companies I helped run). That is why I think God took it all away, I wasn’t sincere in my leadership efforts. Leadership is a HUGE responsibility that influences the LIVES of so many people. So, when you read and look for traits and characteristics and habits of truly GOOD leaders, make sure they are SINCERE. Being a sincere, servant-leader is what makes a good leader.
