Journal Entry

Today’s Response:
I have read over 200 books since my incarceration 28 months ago. I read fiction because it is entertaining and you don’t have to navigate the inner political B.S. of the TV room. I read religious books and the Bible because I need spiritual hope and guidance. I read self-help and memoirs of successful people in many fields because I want to better myself and train myself and my brain to think differently. The most recent book I read was about trauma and how the brain works by Oprah Winfrey and Dr. Bruce. It was called “What Happened to You” and my wife sent it to me. It was a very deep and heavy book with lots of examples of people, mostly children, with trauma and how it affected their brains, thinking, and lives. I believe this book will advance my prospects for future success because I can understand people better. Understanding people that you deal with better is a recipe to becoming a very good, empathetic human which benefits your work, finance, family, and social relationships.
