Critical Thinking Response:

Monero keeps its transactions ultra private and completely confidential as opposed to the public access to most all other blockchains and cryptocurrencies.

I think donors using Monero to donate to politically sensitive charities would be a way to leverage its use.
Of course, each country’s laws and regulations are different, but for most of Western society, I would think it would be hard for a charity to justify using and accepting Monero when there are laws in place that require organizations to verify that individuals and companies donating money are not terrorist or illegal groups.
