Critical thinking response for today:
One of the areas I have focused on learning more about is the legal system of the United States. I believe that the more you can learn about the legal system, both criminal and civil, can help you as you return to society and start working, especially if you will be running or managing a business. I anticipate having a business that deals with contracts, and it will be very helpful to understand the intricacies of the legal system and how contracts work so that you can ensure when you sign contracts that not only are they properly executed and beneficial to your company, but that you know how both parties are to perform the duties and covenants laid out in those contracts. Many entrepreneurs don’t have the opportunity to be exposed to contracts or the legal system and many cannot afford to hire lawyers. I believe sharing these lessons on how the legal system works and how contracts are to be executed and implemented can help people avoid future legal hassles that could cost them large amounts of money and financial issues.
