Just for Today: I will reach out to another addict in my group and share my recovery.
Every Tuesday in the unit a few of us gentlemen put together a recovery meeting. These meetings are an example of the type of service that I enjoy giving to the newcomer. Obviously, there is no discrimination toward people who are still in their active addiction, so we let any one who has a desire to stop attend. Every person in recovery has a powerful story who can help guide the newcomer toward a brighter future. My goal is to help prevent others from following similar footsteps and hit rock bottom from the disease of addiction. In fact, that’s the reason why I share the Just for Today every day, because I know that there are many individuals incarcerated resulting from their addiction. No matter what are circumstance is we have the potential to turn are lives around for the better. I reach out to all the men and women who have struggled with the disease of addiction. Take care of yourself. Find a new way forward with grace and happiness. Its never too late, and never to early to begin your journey of recovery.
