Just for Today: I have been given much in my recovery, and I am deeply grateful for it. I will take joy in being able to share it with others as freely as it was shared with me.
The program has been an integral part of my personal growth. I’ve found strength and solace in the fact that my story can influence others that recovery is possible. My dedication is to continue to rebuild my life and share the opportunities that are attainable with true commitment and desire. Thanks to the principles and the steps of Narcotics Anonymous my life has been reborn.
Preparing for Success after Prison
Lesson 25: Empowerment
My goal is to build new skills that will help me become more knowledgeable in regards to personal development. I put forth the daily effort towards manifesting abilities such as writing persuasively, building a robust vocabulary, and increasing my communication skills. My confidence grows as I take incremental steps towards achieving my goals. Another way of increasing my personal empowerment is by pursuing a higher education. These are all ways of preparing myself for future opportunities that will lead to success after prison.

Philosophy 201
Rene Descartes’ ” I think, therefore I am.”
My current assignment is based on the father of modern philosophy Rene Descartes’. Recently, I introduced his bio and now I dive into the writings of his meditations. After reading the first two meditations I came across a very interesting topic. The concept of a “thinking thing”. Descartes definition of a “thinking thing” is a substance that doubts, understands, affirms, denies, wills, refuses, and that also imagines and senses. Basically, anything that engages in these processes is a thinking thing. Which results in that the ability to think is some type of essence of the mind.
Albert Einstein
“The significant problems we face cannot be solved at the same level of thinking we were at when we created them.”
