Just For Today: I am grateful for my decision to become a member of Narcotics Anonymous.
The first step to join NA is to have the desire to stop using. At that point you have all the power and potential to be whatever you want. As long as you continue to stay clean and sober one day at a time. I want to thank God for giving me another opportunity to change my life for the better.

Lesson 23: Emotional Intelligence
A key concept to learn and master is the process of emotional intelligence. To build healthy control over my emotions will help me effectively communicate with other people in a responsible way. Also, I will have the ability to solve difficult situations and challenges with empathy and compassion. Philosophy 201
Currently, I have had the pleasure of taking a philosophy course through correspondence. My studies have been focusing on Rene Descartes, a French philosopher, mathematician, and scientist. Considered one of the central figures in the development of modern Western philosophy. He is well-known for his philosophical statement “I think, therefore I am”. Which became a foundational element of Western philosophy.
My next step is diving into his writings which are called “Meditations”.
Family
As an inmate with a child, it is monumental that I communicate with my family on a daily basis. Violet, only 3 years old is the light in my life. She gives me all the strength to persevere through the challenges I face while incarcerated. My calls with her always give me a positive close the end of a successful day of preparing for success after prison.
