I did lesson 25 in PSAP today. It’s about empowerment. My concept of empowerment is that it is the tools required to get a job done. It can be physical tools like equipment, or it can come in the form of education or support. Whatever the form, empowerment gives us what we need to succeed in a job or achieve a goal, and we need to recognize it and utilize it. With experience I can identify what I’m lacking and where I need to seek out empowering assets. My most empowering assets have been my support outside of prison that has been sending me books about the fields that I want to operate in after prison. I’ve built on my understanding of these fields and gained confidence in my ability to succeed, which is empowering it itself.
