The last question of chapter 9 in the Preparing for Success After Prison Workbook asks a great question. How do you measure 100% commitment to success? I liked this question partly because it goes hand in hand with the book I just finished at am currently writing a report on. I measure my commitment to success on how many changes in my life I’ve implemented that have become healthy habits that contribute to a better life. I’ve gone from a mindset that work can be intermittent, to an understanding that part-time work leads to part-time results. Waking up late 2 days a week robs me from valuable hours in the best part of the day that I can use to educate myself and calibrate the direction I want my life to move in. I take breaks when I need them, and if I need to power nap in the middle of the day when the unit is crazy, I do it. I wake up early every day no matter how much I don’t want to sometimes, because doing the things in life that are hard will make my life easier.

On a different note, I got into the Certified Personal Trainer Course here at Danbury. It’s only been a couple days, but I love it already. The chapter I worked on this morning focused on the psychology of behavioral change, which also ties in nicely with everything else that I’m working on.
ts today will pave the way for your success tomorrow.”
