I haven’t achieved the goal I set for getting enrolled in college yet. Danbury is not like where I left in Lompoc Californina, in that Lompoc had college classes that were free to the inmate, but took place in a classroom which has never been a very effective way to learn for me. So when I saw that college classes could be completed through correspondence I got really excited. Leaving here with at least an Assosiates in Business Administration would help me achieve my goals after release. But I found out that the correspondence courses have to be paid for by the inmate. Books too. I don’t have the resources for that unfortunately. I do have someone looking into grants, student loans and scholarships, so I haven’t given up. In the mean time I have books on subjects that will help me on the way, so I’ll continue to self study and record everything I’m learning. I’ve read hundreds of books, I wish I had been doing book reports the whole time. I would have retained more and had the notes to refference. But that’s all right, I’m starting now.
