Summary:
Today was a productive day, filled with personal growth, learning, and positive interactions. I began the day by trying a new meditation technique called belly breathing, which I found to be incredibly calming and beneficial for my mental well-being. This technique involves deep breathing exercises that focus on the diaphragm, promoting relaxation and reducing stress.
Following breakfast, I attended SAP class where I presented my thoughts on what success means to me. The presentation was well-received, and I felt proud to share my insights with my peers.
In the afternoon, I worked on my Principles of Marketing course through Edovo, furthering my knowledge in this field. Additionally, I completed my Criminal Thinking homework, made possible through the organization PREP, which I am grateful to be a part of.
I took the time to express my gratitude to Edovo and also to Susy Subway from Prison Health News for providing access to valuable resources and newsletters. Susy has been particularly helpful and does wonderful work.
A significant highlight of my day was speaking with the manager of Edwin’s Culinary Arts. Having completed all 38 courses, I was thrill to learn that I’m being considered as a potential candidate to train with them upon release, with the potential for future employment. This news filled me with hope and motivation.
During my free time, I engaged in physical activity, completing 300 burpees and playing soccer in the yard. Later, I attended my first summer College class on psychology, taught by Dr. Searcy, where we explored topics such as adjustment and Erik Erikson’s theory of the eight stages of identity. I am excited to pursue my bachelor’s degree and potentially major in psychology.
The day concluded with meaningful conversations with my loved ones – my daughter, parents, and wife – before reflecting on my experiences in this journal entry.
