Currently, I am taking a parenting course here in FCI Milan. It is disheartening to realize that I was not mentally, physically or spiritually ready to have children. Even though I love my beautiful children to Heaven and back, I have been more of a disadvantage to them than an advantage. Why? Because I wasn’t prepared. I miss my children more than they would ever know. Despite not being prepared before their birth,the class teaches me to be as active as possible with my children. By doing so while incarcerated, leads to a much smoother transition back to them. Listening from the heart, asking questions, and understanding the communication roadblocks that could arise at anytime, has been a success. However, this is only the beginning.
