Journal Entry

I signed up for the RDAP program last week .That is the Residential Drug Abuse Program that the BOP offers to former drug users, not just because it was court ordered in my sentencing but because I want to get the most out of my time in prison and work on my rehabilitation. Being a part of this program usually gives inmates a year off their sentence upon completion but being that I am not eligible for FSA am committing to do the program primarily to work on myself and reinforce positive habits and routines that will better help me in the future. I have also in the interim of waiting for my re-designation to the RDAP facility i have completed a Godly Leadership and Parenting class, i have signed up for additional Ace classes including Trauma and Health , Narcotics Anonymous , a Faith bases conflict resolution class and a seminar with a guest speaker . I continue to work at Unicor daily as an admin clerk and I have been working on my health with much success. I have lowered my A1c to normal level and no longer take insulin or medication for Diabetes, I no longer need to take blood pressure medication or anti depressants. I am determined to create the best version of myself I can with my time. I continue my Buddhist studies. I have completed one meditation course and just signed up for an additional course with The Ratna Group out of Colorado. My hope is to continue to work towards earning a place back in society where i can positively contribute and help others not make the same mistakes by being a mentor to others that struggle with the disease of addiction. I look forward to being reunited with my family and being involved with my daughter and grandchildren. I am thankful to everyone that believes in me and is supporting me on this journey of self discovery and redemption. Thank you to Michael Santos for being an inspiration and the Team at Prison Professors for being there to support individuals that are trying to make the change in their lives.
