Rhetorical Questions- Self asked questions to make a point, not to get an answer. (Example : Who does he think he is?)
I Can’t- Not tolerating unwanted or uncomfortable situations, using an “I Can’t” approach to thinking when really meant as “I don’t want to”.
Blaming- Holding others responsible for feelings, behaviors or events in your life.
Statement of Fact- Irrational thought, making assumptions without knowing or considering all the facts.
Absolutes- Exaggeration of feelings and situations using broad statement based on a single event. (Absolutes often use words like always, never, forever, only or everyone.
Loaded Words- Used as a way to ramp ourselves up or add “umph” to a thought.
Awfulizing- Focusing more on the problem than the solution; seeing situations or people worse than they really are.
Demands- Insisting the world has to be a certain way. Demanding thoughts often include words like “have to, need to, should or must”.
