How can you embrace change and build resilience to prepare for a successful reentry into society?
I had a difficult time to adept to the prison lifestyle. Part of that is because of how bad I felt that I was in this place because of my actions and how my family felt about all this. I had to open my mind and expand my abilities to do more things by myself. I did start to learn the policies of the BOP and then than opened up to studying law on the law library computer and also how the U.S. Government operates. I keep up with policies that affect us in prison and try to help the guys in deciphering them. With me learning the policies and law has helped me to understand and to compromise with others and it has also helped me with studying and writing. That has helped me in writing resumes and helping others writing resumes so we all can get that better job. I have also completed programs in prison that cross over to the civilian world with certifications that will help me to find a better job and for future employers to see my progress so I will be an asset as an employee. I want to show that employer I did not waste my time while I was in here and to make it as productive as I can.
