Wow! I’ve been away for a minute now. I have so much to make up for. We are at the mercy of the “powers that be” in these places and it has been crazy, to say the least. Regional Administrators have been here with federal agents investigating the facility. I only hope that something positive comes as a result of their visit. There is so much room for improvement in these facilities and so little hope. But I am glad to be a part of something good with Prison Professors. It is a useful tool that allows to memorialize our journey, to keep focus, and to offer support to something meaningful. I want to voice how thankful I am for all the things in life that help me to be a better person.
During this most recent lockdown, I immersed myself in “Mini-Farming” books. Since I was big enough to hold a hoe in my hand, it has been a chore of mine to work in our family garden. It was no small garden. This was a way of living for us, as we grew up so poor. But now that I’m older, it is a sort of tradition/hobby that I wish to get into once I am released. I am trying to get as much up-to-date knowledge about it so that I can be successful. That is now my main goal in life: To be successful at everything I do. I know that in order to achieve this, I need to gain all the necessary knowledge possible during my time here. I enjoy learning and I am going to enjoy my mini-garden once I am released. I also like that fact that this hobby also aids in my health goals to eat only organic food. Its nice when my hobbies and other aspects of my life coincide and it all works together to form a well rounded life plan.
