Today I started my day off as usual, with exercise it try to maintain a good habit of working out 5 days a week and make sure i do start just after breakfast around 7am. Morning working out keeps me in the work habit as if i where working a regular 9-5,besides im a morning person so im at best in the a.m. hours. After 45 minutes of running and pullups,and sit-ups i took my shower and called a friend to search for another editor for my memoir,i had a bad experience the first time around well i wasn’t well informed that the person found on fiverr.com was from another country,therefore the dialogue of my conversations in the book was changed based on their understanding and norm. I had to scrap it all together and since been looking for another editor from the U.S who can transform my approximately 70,000 word work of art into a very legible cohesive piece of art that can deliver the message of change i intend to use to help anyone who is looking to be inspired to overcome obstacles such as gang membership and/or anything holding them down from achieving greatness in life. The problem is finding someone who is the perfect fit,then not to mention would be able to work with my small budget,because making about 15 dollars a month in prison isn’t exactly the creme dela creme of employment. Daily i try to work in small increments to secure a healthy living for myself upon my release,last week i secured my social security card and this week im sending the forms in to receive a new birth certificate as the documents are gonna be a requirement to forge a new path in life and will need them to do just about anything from employment to housing,two main components to successfully reintegrating back into society. Last month i learned through google that my expired drivers license we be able to be renewed without having to take any test or anything because in Michigan as long as its with four years over being expired you don’t need to do anything ,just go in to secretary of state with your old Identification and new mail if your address has changed like mine will. Hearing the news of me not having to take another written or road test to have my license renewed was a big relief as already there so many expenses to starting a new life already,so one less thing i don’t have to come up with money for its great. I know once i have my license and find a reliable transportation my life will be a lot easier and i can even take advantage of being able to take my son to school and do other things with him that i have been dreaming to do with him over the past 42 months I’ve been away from him incarcerated. I look forward to showing myself again that i can be successful after release ,I’ve done it before when i came home from state prison in 2016,making it off of parole and landing a great job, Now with a son i cant allow anything or ANYONE to come in-between of my dreams,aspirations most importantly my FREEDOM. I will today continue to go about my day moving on to study my next 4 words of the day , staying busy and finding ways to draw me closer to my re-entry plans. Anything that’s gonna help me rather its reading something of benefit or talking to someone who can help me in any way im open to it and for it and in turn im always available to give the next person my expertise in anything i can help with, because a the end of the day its about people helping people!
