Tracking My Progress
Every Sunday night I map out concrete targets for the week:
- Study: 25 focused hours on coursework or technical papers.
- Exercise: Five solid workouts.
- Reading: Finish assigned chapters or articles and write a short report on each.
- Service & Accountability:
- Draft one status letter to my judge or probation officer.
- Submit at least one job application or schedule one networking call.
- Complete one visible act of service—tutoring another resident, helping with a cleanup crew, or assisting staff—and log the hours.
- Prepare a concise progress update for my family and support circle so they see I’m making the most of my time.
- Deliver my full release plan to the case manager and confirm it’s on file.
- Gather and submit any visitation‑request forms to the counselor so approved visitors can get on the list.
I record the list in my journal and keep it open on my desk. Each night I check off what’s done, note any gaps, and adjust the next day’s plan if I’m behind. At week’s end I email the completed scorecard to my parents, best friend, and others in my support system. Clear goals, simple tracking, steady follow‑through.
