Weekly Journal Entry: October 28 – November 1
As we step into this week, a notable shift in our operational routine has commenced with our new start time set for 6:30 AM. This adjustment is a strategic move to leverage the longer daylight hours, ultimately aimed at boosting our productivity across various projects. It’s always exciting to see how such changes can ripple through our workflow and team dynamics.
Monday:
With Dillion taking the day off, our Monday crew is light but focused. Sean, Anthony, and Justin are tasked with longline paint restriping in Marana, an essential project that sets the tone for our week. Meanwhile, Matt and Oso will tackle some much-needed touch-up work at Jack in the Box and continue with the handrail painting in Marana. It’s great to see how our team steps up, ensuring that no corner is cut despite the reduced numbers.
Tuesday:
Dillion is off again, but the remaining team members are ready to dive into the Sahuarita longline and shortline thermo work. This collaborative effort brings together Sean, Anthony, Justin, Oso, and Matt, showcasing our commitment to teamwork even as we adapt to varying staffing levels.
Wednesday:
As we reach midweek, both Anthony and Dillion are off. The remaining crew—Sean, Matt, Justin, and Oso—will push forward with the Sahuarita shortline thermo work. The emphasis is on efficiency, and I’m eager to see how our team navigates this challenge.
Thursday:
With Anthony out, Sean, Justin, and Dillion will take on the work at 10th Ave/Forgeus Alley Legends. This project, along with the Marana handrail painting by Matt and Oso, promises to keep us on our toes. It’s a testament to our ability to adapt and maintain momentum, even as we experience shifts in team availability.
Friday:
The team is back in full force! We’ll tackle the Eloy RXR crossing work together, with all hands on deck—Sean, Anthony, Justin, Oso, Matt, and Dillion. This collaborative spirit is what makes our team resilient and successful.
Summary:
Despite the challenges of fluctuating team members, this week is set up for effective coverage across all projects. Coordination and communication will be crucial, especially on days when staffing is reduced. I am particularly excited about my own journey this week as I will be in Eloy, Arizona at Empire CAT for more heavy equipment training. A big thank you to Ron Morris and the staff for facilitating these opportunities with top educators in the field. I look forward to learning and sharing insights with the team next Monday. Here’s to a productive week ahead!
