Journal Entry

Name: Justin Norcutt

Week of: June 16 – June 20, 2025

Location: Arizona

Overview:

This week involved a full schedule of line striping, thermoplastic application, and site-specific project support across multiple Arizona counties. My role required consistent early starts, focus on roadway safety, and flexibility in adapting to varying job site demands. I remained committed to high work standards and productivity throughout.

Daily Summary:

Monday, June 16

Started in Superior, AZ, on a project involving both longline and shortline paint applications. Paid close attention to lane spacing and surface prep to ensure proper adhesion and visibility. Later returned to Tucson to touch up RPMs on Ft. Lowell and address maintenance items at the yard, including a pothole patch and rollup garage door adjustment.

Tuesday, June 17

Returned to Santa Cruz County to continue longline and shortline paint restriping. The focus was on rural roadways with worn markings, requiring careful measurement and coordination. Worked through changing elevations and roadway conditions while maintaining a steady pace.

Wednesday, June 18

Stayed in Santa Cruz County to continue the restriping project. Worked efficiently through remote stretches with minimal interruption. Maintained tight striping tolerances while monitoring weather conditions that could affect paint curing times.

Thursday, June 19

Continued restriping work in Santa Cruz County, focusing on areas with faded or non-existent lines. Made operational adjustments to account for surface inconsistencies and road debris. Ensured proper setup and breakdown of equipment at each stop.

Friday, June 20

Closed the week in Santa Cruz County, completing final passes of longline paint work on priority roadways. Focused on consistency and clean transitions at intersections and turn lanes. The week wrapped with a strong finish and minimal rework needed.

Reflections:

This week demanded focus, discipline, and adaptability. Managing multiple projects across different cities required sharp time management and an organized approach to materials and equipment. I’m proud of the consistent results delivered and the commitment shown from start to finish.

Goals for Next Week:

● Continue refining paint application technique for greater efficiency ● Improve daily setup and breakdown process for quicker deployment ● Review equipment maintenance to ensure readiness for upcoming jobs
