Journal Entry for 4/8/2024 through 4/12/2024
It’s been an intense second week in class for Heavy Equipment Operating School. With each passing day, I feel more immersed in this new chapter of my life. The routine is becoming familiar, starting promptly at 8 a.m. and concluding around 5 p.m., with well-deserved breaks interspersed throughout the day.
This week’s focus has revolved around diving deep into the CORE: Introduction to Basic Construction Skills 6th edition textbook. It’s been a rigorous process, but I’ve been putting in the hours, diligently studying and absorbing the content from various modules.
Monday and Thursday were pivotal days as I tackled tests on “Orientation to the Trade” and “Excavation Math.” The preparation paid off, and I faced the assessments with confidence. Now, I eagerly await my scores, confident in the time and effort I’ve invested in my studies.
But the day doesn’t end with the final bell. Evenings are dedicated to further review and mastery of the day’s material, often stretching into the late hours until 8pm or 9pm. It’s demanding, but I’m fully committed to this learning journey, excited about the progress I’m making.
As I continue to navigate through this adventure of learning and growth, I’m grateful for the support and encouragement of those around me. Thank you for following along with me on this journey.
Sincerely,
Justin Ray Norcutt
