Journal Entry: Weekly Work Schedule Recap – March 23 to March 27

As we roll into the week of March 23, the schedule has been packed with a blend of routine tasks and new challenges across multiple locations. It’s been one of those weeks where precision, timing, and teamwork have been paramount to ensure everything runs smoothly, despite the ever-shifting demands.

Monday: A Pre-Dawn Start The week began bright and early at 5:30 a.m. – a sharp contrast to the usual 7:00 a.m. start time. The early hours weren’t just for the sake of getting ahead; Monday’s schedule called for a strategic start in Casa Grande, AZ, where the team had to tackle the Honeycutt & Hartman project. The list was ambitious: Obliterating existing markings with grinders, followed by the essential blackout spray work, and finishing with the longline and shortline layout and paint. It was a monumental task, but with the full crew on site – Gary, Sean, Dillion, Oso, Matt, Anthony, and Cole – everything fell into place. Justin was late due to an appointment, but his presence later in the day brought much-needed momentum.

Meanwhile, in Tucson, Justin took charge of organizing the box trailer and shed shelving – an essential task for keeping our gear and supplies orderly and efficient. Organization might not always grab attention, but it’s what keeps us running at peak capacity.

Tuesday: Precision and Coordination We kicked off Tuesday in Tucson with a half-mile longline paint on Via Velasquez Road, a relatively straightforward task, but one that demands careful attention to detail. With Sean, Anthony, and Justin on hand, we got the job done quickly and efficiently.

Next up was the Hub V Parking Garage – striping and signs. This is where the magic of coordination came into play. We had to work around the garage’s layout while ensuring that all signs and lines were perfectly aligned for maximum safety and efficiency. The team on this included Sean, Anthony, and Justin, all pulling together to make sure we didn’t miss a beat.

Over in Marana, Dillion, Oso, Matt, Cole, and Gary were busy on the Continental Links stop bar and blackout Mountain Stone project. Another full crew, another productive day. The hard work pays off when the job is done right the first time.

Wednesday: A Quiet Day (Sort Of) Wednesday arrived with Anthony off for the day, and we moved into Oro Valley for a longline paint restripe job. The team – Sean, Justin, Gary, and Dillion – worked like clockwork, ensuring that each line was straight and precise. It was one of those tasks that required patience but nothing out of the ordinary.

Meanwhile, Oso, Matt, and Cole were on another important job over at Alvernon & 3rd, performing bike boulevard improvements. The work involved thermo look lines, bike dots in green, and the removal of a bollard, all of which had to be executed with accuracy and care. These kinds of improvements always feel satisfying because they’re about more than just road work – it’s about enhancing the community’s infrastructure.

Thursday: Rinse and Repeat Thursday mirrored Wednesday, with Anthony taking the day off once again. Oro Valley’s longline paint restripe was back on the agenda, and the crew – Sean, Justin, Gary, and Dillion – executed it flawlessly. It’s a rhythm we’ve come to appreciate in the

field: we know the task, we know the parameters, and the crew is experienced enough to handle the repetitive work without losing focus.

In Tucson, Oso, Matt, and Cole were over at the Baptist Church parking lot for a restriping job. This one had a slightly different scope, but the same attention to detail. The process requires precision because we’re not just marking spaces, we’re enhancing the flow of traffic for everyone who uses the space.

Friday: A Well-Deserved Break Finally, the workweek ended on Friday with the entire team taking a well-earned day off. There’s something rejuvenating about a collective rest – it gives everyone time to recharge and prepare for whatever challenges next week might bring. Sean, Justin, Gary, Matt, Dillion, Oso, Cole, and Anthony – all were off-duty, and it was a chance for the team to reflect and relax before diving back into the rhythm of the job.

Overall, this week was about efficient execution, teamwork, and maintaining a steady pace. From early starts to long shifts, we’ve kept the operations smooth, making sure our projects are completed with precision and care. It’s the quiet intensity of a job well done that defines weeks like this. Looking forward to what next week has in store.
