Journal Entry

Justin Norcutt Journal Entry for the Week of March 10th

This week has been a whirlwind of activity, with plenty of moving pieces and a jam-packed schedule. As always, the crew did an exceptional job of adapting and pushing through, keeping our projects on track despite a few curveballs. Here’s a recap of the week:

Monday – ALL OFF

The day started with a bit of unexpected downtime. Unfortunately, our Monday job was rescheduled late on Friday, leaving us with an unscheduled day. While it was a bit of a surprise, we took it in stride. Sometimes, these moments of pause are exactly what the team needs to recharge and be ready for the rest of the week.

Tuesday – Marana, AZ & Tucson, AZ

A busy day ahead, with projects in both Marana and Tucson.

Gladden Farms Crosswalk Blackout

We got to work early on the Gladden Farms crosswalk in Marana, knocking out the blackout to increase visibility. A simple but essential job that went smoothly. ● Arizona Pavilions Stop Bars

Moving on to Arizona Pavillions for some precise stopbar painting, ensuring the lines were crisp and clear for safety purposes.

Sun Van Yard Striping & Arrows

In Tucson, Matt and Cole handled striping and arrow markings at the Sun Van Yard. Always great to see Matt back at it with Cole, as they work efficiently together. ● Longline Paint Thornydale

In Marana, Sean, Anthony, Justin, and Gary worked on longline paint for the Thornydale project. The crew hit their stride and the lines looked perfect.

Wednesday – Casa Grande, AZ

A little lighter day with some folks off, but we still pushed forward with several key projects.

Casa Grande RV Storage Layout

Sean, Justin, Matt, Dillion, Oso, and Cole worked on the Casa Grande RV Storage layout. This was a meticulous job, ensuring the spaces were clearly delineated and optimized for storage. The team worked seamlessly to get it done without delay.

Thursday – Marana, AZ

Another productive day, though we had Anthony off for the day, which kept us a bit leaner on manpower.

Southern Arizona Logistics Center Handicap Sign Swap

Dillion and Oso took charge of the handicap sign swap at the Southern Arizona Logistics Center. It’s a simple but crucial job for accessibility compliance, and they handled it with professionalism.

Ora Mae Marana Park Parking Lot Restripe

The team moved on to Ora Mae Marana Park and Gladden Farms Park for parking lot restriping. With Gary, Justin, Sean, Matt, and Cole working efficiently, we got both parks done in good time, ensuring a safe and organized parking experience for visitors.

Friday – Tucson, AZ

The week wrapped up with a high-intensity day in Tucson, with a combination of shortline paint, preformed thermoplastic, obliteration, and flex pole installations.

Alvernon & 3rd Bike Blvd Improvements

Gary, Justin, Sean, Matt, Dillion, Oso, Anthony, and Cole tackled bike boulevard improvements at Alvernon & 3rd. A diverse set of tasks required precision, and the team pulled together to make it a successful end to the week. From thermoplastic markings to the installation of flex poles, it was a satisfying conclusion to the week’s work.

Reflection

Despite a couple of unexpected changes in the schedule, the crew came together with flexibility and commitment. With Cole returning this week, it was great to see the team reassemble and work with fresh energy. From the busy streets of Marana to the detailed work in Casa Grande, everyone delivered at a high standard. Looking ahead, I’m proud of how our team handled each task and adapted to the shifting demands. It’s weeks like these that truly showcase the strength of our team and our ability to adapt on the fly.

Looking forward to another productive week ahead!
