Weekly Reflection: June 16 – June 20, 2025
This week has been busy, and I’ve been learning a lot since I started working as a receiver in the Inbound Department. I’ve been picking up valuable knowledge from my supervisor, Captain, as well as from my coworkers. Right now, I’m what you’d call a “floater” since we’re in the summer season—school is out, and business has slowed down a bit. That shift in pace has given me a chance to experience different areas and continue learning.
I also made the decision to start going back to the gym. I want to rebuild myself, especially after being out for six weeks due to hernia repair surgery. Thankfully, the surgery went well, and I’m back at 100%. My goal now is to drop some weight and start feeling better, both physically and mentally.
Another step I’ve taken is returning to church. It feels good to stay grounded, positive, and productive with my time. I’m truly grateful for my job, and I’m proud of myself for stepping up and making the choice to live a more positive, productive life.
It’s interesting how the way you grow up—and what you’re exposed to—can shape how you see the world. When you’ve been surrounded by negativity, it can be hard to believe there’s a different way to live. But I’ve lived, I’ve learned, and I remind myself every day that life is what I make it. The choices I make today will shape the life I live tomorrow.
