Journal Entry: John Hopkins-03/31/2025-Build the future you want

Journal Entry

I’ve been reactive most of my life. I’ve used many terms to describe it, opportunistic, reactive, ADHD, distracted, greasing the squeaky wheel are a few.

I have a lot of excuses that make great sense why I have done this. But that just what they are. I’ve been told before things like work the business, don’t let the business work you. But ultimately I understood but didn’t assimilate it into meaning. I need to build the future I want. For me it’s not riches or fame, both would probably make me puke regularly and be over stimulating. Really the goal is a calm life, enough finance to not live in survivor mode, or said properly financial security. A wife that loves me and building a family with her until I leave the earth. These goals are simple but complex. It’s hard to change years of habits quickly. It’s hard not to react and overcome things that face me with this mindset, but it is no way to this peaceful life I can envision.

So back to the list , build the future:
1. Schedule jobs, don’t react, there are no construction jobs so urgent to reorder the schedule or over load the schedule
2. You’ve made the Budget. Refer to number one. Keep the budget don’t stray from the path
3. Solidify a financial advisor to take the budget and prepare/ educate/ execute for the next level, financial security.
4. Keep the vision in the front of your mind, your wife, your children, your life, financial security “
