Journal Entry

As I continue to prepare for my impending surrender to the Hazelton federal prison camp on November 30, I look at life and its lessons. Life’s struggle is necessary for growth. The lessons of life are one of the best educations we have and will have. Today I will be driving to my last religious silent retreat until I am released from prison. I find myself in these retreats so peaceful and the quietness of the property and chapel which I spend time at. Today is beautiful sunny day and the good lord will be with me.

The struggles we face weather is mental, financial, family, illnesses are all part of leering and thinking on how to solve them. We must have faith and trust in God. Good hope never dies. God is a testing tool at all times. He will show us the ups and downs of life to see if we walk away from him. We get tempted and that’s when the devil is in us. When tempted close our eyes and think of got. Behind every happiness, there is saddens. I sit and think daily of what I will be facing behind the doors of the prison once they are closed. Do I have a choice? Yes, I do. I either let this prison control me or I have to control the prison in all ways, Positive thinking, keeping busy, stay to myself and plan my future.

God gave us one mouth and two ears. To talk less and listen more. Each day I will cherish in prison is I’m up and alive Sometimes institutions like a prison whether it’s a camp or in a cell. It becomes a think tank to better ourselves and be as alert as we can for a better life once I’m out. I am confident it will be ok. I’ve always cherished my family young or old and wanted to make sure everyone is doing well. One thing I have done over the past several years was texting my oldest two granddaughters. My morning and evening text were a combination of prayer, wisdom and respect. I think I have groomed them properly at a young age to know week from strong and right from wrong. I always tell them they are leaders not followers. Amen. 😊 JDD

A Prayer for Today

“Father, thank You for the ability to control my atmosphere. I can’t control what others say or do or control negative circumstances around me, but I can rule my spirit. I’m going to stay in peace and say no to whatever tries to poison my atmosphere. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
