Today I am focusing on staying positive even when things do not go as planned. I have been patiently trying to get a dog program going here at Pekin since I arrived months ago. So far we have been able to get a volunteer program from the local shelter to bring dogs over for socialization. The Warden has approved this program but we are still waiting for it to start. I am hopeful that in the future we can get a real dog program here like the one in Waseca where the dogs come and live in units with us for a year while we train them to be service animals. It is a wonderful program so I am praying for that.
