I have been thinking about what I will need to succeed when I am released. I am concerned because I do not know how to save money here when I only earn 12 cents an hour. I do not get money from the outside. I am focusing on getting an education while I am here. I am currently in the college program here at Pekin. I am getting a certificate in Business Management from Illinois Community College. I may not be able to leave prison with money to start over so I will focus on being able to earn when I am released. For now, that is all I can do. I will move forward and learn all the skills I can and pray for reform so I do not have to serve my 22-year nonviolent drug charge.
