I have been feeling very accomplished lately. My days have been filled with positive things that I am doing to learn a little more every day.
Besides programming in VT electrical for my accrediation, I also just recently got a job working in the facilities plumbing department. Even though plumbing is not my area of choice I am open to learn some things about the trade. Plus, now that I am hired, I will have the opportunity to work in the other departments they offer which is HVAC, electrical, general maitence. I will be able to see how things work and get the hands on experience that is nessesary to be successful.
On another note, there is this Math-A-Lon coming up that I signed up for and I am pretty excited. I recently had my grandma send in a few books, Trigonometry, Calculus and Physics. Everyday I have my head in my Trig book and I am learning more and more. I would really like to place in the top when I do this contest, but to be honest I know I am going up against people that were real accomplished people when they were in the free world. To be exact a bio chemist to list just one. Everyday I am working hard to up my math game so I can be prepared. I am anxious to see what happens.
The more and more I practice math the more I see that I have a real passion for it. I have already been tutoring people in the unit and it feels good especially when they tell me that I am really helping them. I just am curious, what kinds of job opportunities are there for a mathmatician? And is that something that is even obtainable? Well what I do know for certain is that I am going to keep on learning and building on my knowledge. I am also interested in reaching out to people on the College Universitiy level the way Michael Santos did. I believe making those conncetions was a big factor in his success. I am aware that I am capable of success myself!
