Tonight the mentors in my unit gathered to have our weekly meeting. Since we are just starting this mentorship program here we have to keep track of everything that we do including having a sign in and making notes of what each meeting is about.
At tonight’s meeting we discussed the workshop that will be coming up in 3 weeks to help everyone get on board with how to make a bio, your journaling, and creating a release plan. All this is built around the way that Michael Santos explains in his books. Once we actually have this workshop it will get more of our mentors on the same page so we can better help the ladies in our community create and set up their bios on the site. As of now I don’t have my bio completed, but should soon.
We also talked about a domestic Violence event that we are having in October. There will be 4 different workshop groups, self-esteem, boundaries, stop carrying baggage, and healthy relationships. I have been asked to take a lead at one of the tables, but haven’t yet been assigned to a specific one yet. This event is a big deal to me. I am very passionate about empowering and bettering my community.
I also have to finish making notes from the training seminar from last week. When I am done I am going to shout out the ladies that contributed and stood out. Even from prison we can be build each other up and get ready for our futures.
Soon we are going to have an “Arc Tank.” This is similar to a Shark Tank, but for copyright purposes we made it Arc instead. What we will be doing is picking the brains of the ladies in our unit. We want to see what they are passionate about. Anyone that has any entrepreneurship ideas we are going to help them develop those in anyway they need help and then there is going to be a completion within the unit. The unit then gets to move on and compete with others on the compound.
