Today was my 1st official softball game and I was drafted to a team.
WE WON 21-9!
I played second base, and the first hit to me was to my right so it was a backhand as I leaped into the air. I was elevated and made a play catching a backhand that everyone including both sides went crazy over.
It was a game stopper early on.
My hitting wasn’t so good. My last two at bats I hit it hard, but the pitcher made a great play and my last at bat was a long hit to left field and my friend dove for the ball and caught it.
It was a great day with beautiful weather.
We laughed a lot.
It was extra special being on the winning team. Overall it was such a good feeling playing with these guys. Everyone is smiling, laughing and having fun. It felt like a new level of brotherhood here at the Camp.
Something extra special is a friend from temple who I sit next to and who is leaving next Saturday watched the whole game from the sidelines.
