” IT’S THE HOURS THAT YOU PUT IN THAT YOU DONT GET PAID FOR THAT COUNTS”
Everyday I have a set routine and a checklist of things that I have to do in order for me to feel like I had an effective day. I recently began a new workout called the insanity every morning at 6:00am. It’s a pretty intense workout if you’re giving all that you have to give. So I did the workout and went about the rest of my day when it was time for me to go on my evening jog I just didn’t have the energy to go, for some time I fought with myself about if I was going to go or not. Then I happened to go into my locker for something and Bam! right in my face was a quote that read ” how you do one thing is how you do all things.”
Needless to say i locked in and went for my evening run, as I was doing so, the most enlightening thought came to my mind or maybe it was that small inner voice that always seems to guide me just when I need it to that said. “it’s the hours that you put in that you don’t get paid for that counts.”
I was grateful for that thought because it assured me that even though I’m not getting paid right now in this moment, I’m working for a greater tomorrow. I remember this NBA player was talking about Kobe Bryant and how great he was. he said that one day he got to the gym to train and when he walked in Kobe was drenched in sweat. he didn’t really pay it no mind he went about his day and worked out for a few hours went into the ice bath and got a rub down. he said when he was leaving he noticed that Kobe was still at it. later that night his team played the Lakers and Kobe scored 48 points. after the game he said he made his way to the Lakers locker room because he needed to speak with Kobe. he proceeded to tell him how he seen him in the gym that morning going hard and cant understand how he still had the energy to play the way he did that night. Kobe responded by telling him that he was actually done working out when they first saw each other, but seeing another team coming to workout told him that he had more work to do..
I hope that this inspires anyone who gets to read this, we all have greatness in us we just have to work to get it, i feel that greatness is a choice no one makes us want to be great. do the work my friends even if it seems pointless at the time just know that this moment here is pregnant with the next and it will all work out in the end.
