As a way to be productive and stay focused on my career for when I exit this system, I applied to teach a class on, “the principles of Home Planning and Design.” While this not my area of expertise, all architects have learned, at some point in their schooling and career, to design a house. It is the fundamental unit of shelter for us all. Unlike a college course however, I will be teaching to a group of people with a wide variance in experience and knowledge. To accomodate everyone, the course will focus on fundamentals such as reading drawings, site planning, how to engage an architect or interior designer. The permitting process, building systems such as hvac and plumbing, and more.

The idea is to get people familiar with how a typical house design should proceed. If this goes well I may teach the course again in the future, but more likely, I will try to teach courses that might help people start to get real estate businesses going. I have spent time with individuals here giving pointers and advice on how they can invest or otherwise do small projects with an eye towards making money. I hope to help people however I can during my time here.
