Ok, so I’m not a baby. I’m a middle-aged (or slightly older) man. But I did get my first haircut
here. That may not seem like a big deal, but to me it was.
I have been going to my hair stylist, Tim, for 30 years. Yes, 30 years. No one else has touched my
hair in those 30 years. Tim knows every wave, curl, and cowlick. He does a wonderful job. So it
was with great trepidation, that I made an appointment with the barber here. Actually, there are
4 barbers here, but someone I trusted recommended a certain one, so that was with whom I
made the appointment. I didn’t want my head shaved or cut short like a military haircut. I even
toyed with the idea of letting my hair grow the entire time I’m here. Some people do that, but my
hair is just too thick and unruly.
My appointment time came. The barber seemed very nice and asked me how I would like my
hair cut. I tried to explain the best I could, how I would like my haircut, without being overly and
obnoxiously detailed. He checked in with me as the haircut progressed to see if it was ok. I really
appreciated that. When he was finished, I looked in the mirror. It wasn’t bad! Certainly not as
good as Tim would have done, but it looked quite nice. I was both pleased and relieved. I
thanked him. I let him know that I would be back in 4 weeks, and left. That wasn’t so bad after
all. I don’t have to worry about getting my hair cut anymore!
