Another blessed day and another day to appreciate all that happens in our lives. The feeling of helping another person find their direction and purpose is such a great feeling. I say this because I mentored a young kid and he went home and left me a note, reading this gave me one of the best feelings I have ever had. Just giving back to society in this manner is so wonderful. Here are the words from “D”, ” I used to live my life a day at a time with no purpose & no hope. At first I was convinced I wouldn’t see my 18th due to incarceration I did anyway my point is I never thought I would change I was afraid of it. Ha-Ha Afraid of losing my credit I worked for, of being judged, & being lost again. Well one thing for sure I’ve not only accepted change I know I’ll never be lost & I don’t know how to thank you. It might seem exaggerated but honestly you helped me find my way. You’re also the only person besides my old man (grandfather) to say you’re gonna be proud of me in this new life I’m tryna live & I hope it’s not the last. I’m grateful to have met you. I hope you finish this last little number you have left & get home soon, I know your organizations gonna be great & I can’t wait to be a part of it. I wanna keep up our bible study so I’ll do my best to catch up with you every week. You took a chance to help me follow the right path and your words fell on open ears. In other words you rolled the Dice. If you’re reading this I’m not here anymore, you gonna hear from me soon tho, also you mentioned that Superbowl when you got out I believe my steelers won I might be wrong altho I doubt it I look forward to hearing from you & again thanks for everything you ever need some I’ll do my best.
