After a long Saturday, I decided to try and sleep in today; thankfully I was able to.
I am up for 10am count, and get ready to head out for lunch.
I read my daily devotionals and daily chapters from the Bible.
Last night I came across this excellent English Standard Version Study Bible in the dorm book shelf. Now when I read through it, I can understand it better.
I go get Mr. Rivero and we head to lunch, today was scrambled eggs, potatoes, bread slices, jelly packets, and apple sauce.
After lunch, I drop off Mr. Rivero at his room, put his wheelchair away, grab my Bible, song lyrics folder, water bottle and a small cup of Cuban coffee and head to the Chapel. I grab the broom, sweep the whole chapel, clean the bathroom, setup the microphone, podium and sign-up sheet, and play “Positive Encouraging K-Love” as background music while I wait for the service at 1pm.
Today English Christian service was from 1-2pm. I sang two songs today in front of the group. First song was “I Can Only Imagine”, and the second was “Goodness of God”. Everyone was surprised to hear me sing, and I will say this time I was not as nervous as the first time. Our Chaplain Hostler lead the service today, based on John 10:7-16 and Psalm 23. He always puts a great message together for us.
Spanish Christian service went from 2-3pm, and was lead by a volunteer. At the same time I was handling other inmates who were watching movies in the personal televisions using their headphones, so I did not catch the message he gave, but am always grateful and thankful he takes time out of his day to come preach to our Spanish group.
I clean up and put everything away, then head back to the dorm. I call my dad, say my hello’s, hope he is having a good day, talk about the Miami Marlins and their excellent comeback win yesterday and how they were about to win today. “I love you, please take care, I will talk to you tomorrow”, and we hang up. They lock us in for the 4pm count, and my roommate sits there to talk to me, my goodness could he talk, and I wouldn’t change him for no one else. He tells me a few things about his significant other’s good friend, and I find out this woman is around my age, and very similar to me in many ways, plus she is currently not in a relationship. So now every time I see him, I ask him if he has mentioned me at all, and put in a good word for me. Even if he doesn’t, I will just bother him about it, he knows I am focusing on myself and getting my life in line.
There was no recreation this evening due to the bad weather, so we decided to see a movie on the tablet. Time to connect the tablet, download the movie, call mom and go enjoy the movie. That is all for today, goodnight everyone.
Dear Lord, I am coming up to 35 months of my prison term. Since day one you have shown me your involvement in my life and have guided me towards you more and more each day. I thank you for all you do and all you continue doing for myself and my family and those close to me. Please do not ever leave me, my life is in your hands, and I pray that you will forever guide me in the right direction, as I will forever follow your word. Please give us a safe, and healthy week, in your sons name Lord Jesus I pray, Amen.
Thank you for reading.
