Just as every Saturday, I am up early, and heading over to the chapel to prepare for the Jewish Shabbat service. I am welcomed by our chaplain as she unlocks the doors to the chapel. It has been a week with some ups and downs, but it ends today on a positive note. I spent the whole morning, and the afternoon in the chapel, organizing, cleaning, and then making sure things are ready for the movie night. After the 4pm count, I went over to see if Mr. Rivero was ready to go to dinner, but tells me he had better plans, as he was preparing food for the both of us. I will say in his 88 years of age, he really knows how to make something out of nothing with the items we buy on commissary. After eating, I quickly and thoroughly clean the bowls and plasticware, then head to the chapel.
Thirty-eight inmates signed-in and are ready for the movie, as am I. The movie was Chronicles of Narnia, and even though I am not one for fantasy-type movies, I enjoyed it, and it seemed that everyone else did too. Of course, I cried, the moment the younger brother Edmund was told to save himself yet he jumped into the battle to save his older brother, and even though I have never jumped into a physical battle to save my older brother, I would always do whatever it took to be there for him whenever he needed me. The night is over, I called my parents, ate a snack and am ready for daily 10pm count.
