Sunday morning, thankfully I was able to sleep in and rest from a busy day yesterday. Another Sunday full of worship and important messages to take in. What a beautiful day it was outside today, but it was also so hot that even the wind that was blowing seemed to sizzle on our skin. Our lovely Chaplain Mu’chuthi-ngette led us in prayer, two hymns we all sang together, and service began. I hope her message touched many hearts, as it did mine. After service today, I tried so hard to go straight to my room but was stopped by several who asked different questions, either regarding visitation, courses, putting in an electronic request, and some just wanting to talk about the 2-point reduction. Though at times it may be tiring, I enjoy helping where I can, and when I don’t have accurate information, I always know who I could direct them to that will have correct information.
During count, I read my daily devotionals and chapters 5 and 6 of Luke then prepared myself a soup sandwich with a mackerel and roasted peanut crumble. It was a little messy eating it, and it was quite humorous as my roommate sat there looking at me stuff my face, but oh man was it enjoyable. Still to this day, the best soup sandwich I have eaten in prison were the ones my old roommate “Nica” would make while we were roommates at FDC Miami. I will never forget him, and the things he did for me.
“REC” was called and I headed to the chapel to prep for the Spanish Christian service. Rafael our volunteer preached tonight, though I was busy with other duties around the chapel it seemed everyone was really involved and enjoying his message. Returning to the unit, I got what I needed to shower and went into the first one available. Pork cracklings pack in my pocket, typing this journal entry, it’s time to go call Mom and end the evening watching the Copa America game between Colombia and Argentina.
Let’s pray for good things this week, especially after a scary assassination attempt on President Trump. We are praying for you and your family Mr. Trump, may God Bless you all.
