I decided to stay in this morning and skip going to the rec yard, and thank God I did. At 9 am they did a recall sending everyone back to their units. Apparently, something happened near the Food Service area so they brought to each dorm frozen bologna sandwiches with a bag of chips and a muffin for lunch. While this was going on, the water was shut off and we were unable to use the toilet or even get us hot water to try and defrost the sandwiches so I pulled out a pouch of tuna, mixed in some mayonnaise and pepper and at that with the chips.
As I was finishing my lunch I see through the window the Chaplain walking towards my unit so I get ready and head out to meet him. We walk over to the Chapel as he is filling me in on the situation. There is work being done in another unit so all the inmates were asked to go to the Chapel and wait, but for whatever reason there was no one watching over them and EVERYTHING was out of place, and there was trash everywhere, coffee spills in different spots, chairs dirty, books out of place, and since the water was shut off, the bathroom was lets just say, disgusting.
I cleaned what was necessary to accommodate the Muslim service at 1pm and to not bother them, I quietly cleaned the bathroom and other areas. Im exhausted, today was non-stop, but I was able to put the Chapel back in to shape and it was ready for the evening services, which ran smoothly.
Tomorrow is a new day full of new adventures.
