Challenging times
In life, we go through a lot of challenging things. Sometimes these challenges cause some of us to give up. I have faced these challenges as a prisoner multiple times. The most recent is being turned down for my clemency. It made me feel like why should I even bother with seeking clemency.
It made me question if I should even continue to program as I do and stay out of trouble. This challenge tries to get me to give up, but I know better. The race is not to the swift but to the one who endures. And unless we possess the power of endurance to live through the dark of the night. We will not see the glory of daybreak.
Nothing worth having comes easy. So my fight for freedom is going to be filled with a lot of challenges. And I may not get out earlier like I am fighting for. I may have to stay until my time is up in 2035. But one thing I know is when it does come I will be ready. I will keep building myself up for the ultimate goal. That’s me being a better person no matter if I make it out or not.
I will not continue to be the same person. And when you are fighting for something good like that. The challenges mount. But I am prepared for them. Find strength in those challenges. Because without a foe a soldier will never know his strength. Those challenges are your foe.
