The weather is nice and now we can get outside for recreation. On Tuesday I walked 1.3 miles and yesterday I walked 2.6 miles. I also did 120 push-ups and 15 pull-ups. You can tell everyone is enjoying the fresh air and trying to find a way to shed some of their winter weight.
I am currently reading five books at the same time:
1) I read a couple chapters of Moby Dick at work when time allows.
2) Yesterday I started reading a page a day of The Daily Stoic.
3) I read a chapter or two per night of Lord Jim, a guy about a sailor working his way towards Asia in the mid 1800’s.
4) I just started reading a chapter a night called “The End of America.” It is basically about how we are now so far removed from our founding that no one tries to hold onto democracy, expecting someone else to do it. It also talks about how leaders are moving to more autocratic methods of governing and the judicial branch does not have much power anymore. Interestingly, it was written in 2007, so was not written because any certain president was elected.
5) I started reading a biography on Steve Jobs. That is an interesting read and it goes quickly.
I think this is the first time I have ever read 5 books at the same time but it seems to work for me.
Sincerely
Dennis
