The Power of Decisions

I begin today, and every day with the following prayer before I pray specifically for my family, loved ones, and other relevant matters. I developed this standard prayer to assist me with establishing the proper mindset for the environment I am faced with every day. I call it “A Prisoner’s Prayer”

Creator God, Our Father, Maker of Heaven and Earth, how Excellent is Your Name. You have established the universe and set forth the eons of time to accomplish your purpose. Help me this day to align my focus, my will, and my desires with Your divine will, Your divine plan, and Your divine purpose for my life. Help me to see and appreciate the inherent value You have deposited in the design of Your highest creation, mankind. You have created us to do good works, to serve our fellow man, and to fulfill your plan. Help me to recognize our diverse ethnicities, cultural practices, talents, abilities, gifts, and skills as our greatest strength, and the essential tools we need to build a better global community. Help me to avoid judging others and myself, as you are the preeminent and just judge. You are the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the Everlasting Father, forever, and ever, Amen.

The following are highlights from my daily entry in my High-Performance Planner today.

Today’s Message To Myself includes the following quote: “Circumstances don’t make the man, they only reveal him to himself. – Epictetus
My circumstances will not dictate my future. My decisions today will determine my destiny.

In establishing my “Morning Mindset” today, I wrote the following:

One thing I can get excited about today is…
My renewed opportunity to continue to build a firm foundation for my success in the future.

If one word could describe the kind of person I want to be today, then that word is…and why I chose it is…
Inspired. I choose inspired because inspiration gives one motivation to act, and correction action is foundational to progress.

One thing I could do today that is a little outside of my comfort zone is to (try, ask for, express something, take a big step, etc.)…
Share some of my hopes, dreams, and aspirations with others to enlist an element of accountability to ensure my actions are aligned with my aspirations.

Today’s Top 3 Goals/Priorities:

  1. Improve my character and integrity through my SPEED (Spiritual Personal/professional Enlightenment Enrichment Development) Work.
  2. Learn Something New
  3. Create Something of Value

From my “Evening Journal”:

If I were my own high-performance coach, I would tell myself this statement about today…
You completed all of your “Tasks That Absolutely Must Be Done Today” which means that you have what it takes to bring your Big Vision to fruition.
