I have been given an opportunity to reenter society with a job and a place to live, when that time comes. I know many incarcerated people are not so fortunate. Attorney Michael Holmes has written a letter to the Pardons Attorney stating I will reside with his family, and go back to work in his law firm in California upon release. They have pledged their support, as well as their confidence in my success.
I worked for Mr. Holmes prior to my relapse. I had started my own legal advertising company and moved, and I believe leaving that structured environment, along with my failure to educate myself and increase self-awareness my prior incarcerations, led to my relapse. But past success lends confidence to future success. If I managed 8 years clean and sober and a productive member of society, with no education, no knowledge of the addiction I struggled with, essentially no tools, imagine what I can accomplish with the arsenal I am now equipped with.
I am very thankful for everyone who has stood by me through this amazing transformation, and those whom I have been blessed to become newly united with. God never fails to allow me to see the world with new eyes and a deep sense of appreciation for the new life I have been given. I pray I show that gratitude each day by living up to my full potential and striving for greatness.
