The prison has been on lockdown and modified operations. When I transferred from Pekin/FCI to Thomson, I was told that I had reached a low-security status and I was being transferred to a low-level security prison, well this place is anything but low-level. The reasoning behind the levels is to facilitate rehabilitation and allow prisoners to earn more freedom, USP Thomson is all but, Yet I find myself reminded that I owe it to myself to still stay focused and positive working towards my goals of success. Today success for me is being positive and continue my reading regimen. I just finished my “Starting your own non-profit” book and I am even more confident that a non-profit is in my future I have about 3-4 more years left on my sentence depending on the halfway housing situation when the time comes. So in the great scheme of things I am nearing the end of my sentence and I need all the help I can get, so I equip myself with tools of information so I will not get lost in the sea called freedom.
